Cristina Alvarez-Mingote has experience in the areas of governance, institutional strengthening, food security, women’s empowerment and migration; and in contexts as diverse as Malawi, Sierra Leone and Ecuador. She has led M&E, learning and research efforts for USAID-funded projects. She specializes in conducting research in international development settings, which includes designing sampling procedures, survey instruments and capacity assessment tools; programming offline data collection surveys; training and supervising enumerators; ensuring data quality; analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and writing reports as well as peer-reviewed journal publications. She also has experience with grant proposal writing, coordination of research partners and grant execution management.
