Alexandra Chinchilla is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Chicago, a 2020-21 USIP-Minerva Peace and Security Scholar, and a 2020-21 Hans J. Morgenthau Fellow at the Notre Dame International Security Center. Alexandra researches international security and political violence, with a focus on how great powers shape the militaries of non-great powers. Alexandra’s work is published in International Politics and supported by The Pearson Institute for the Study and Resolution of Global Conflicts, and The University of Chicago Social Sciences Research Center. In addition, Alexandra is a Data Research Fellow at the Chicago Project on Security and Threats (CPOST).
