Amuitz Garmendia Madariaga is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at Universidad Carlos III at Madrid. She started a PhD as a Fulbright fellow in the Department of Political Science at Binghamton University, where she defended her dissertation in the Spring of 2016. Before arriving to the UC3M, Amuitz was a Max Weber postdoctoral fellow at the European University Institute in Florence during the 2016-2017 academic year. Her research interests include the comparative political economy of federalism and decentralization, and the study of multilevel political behavior and competition.
