I am a Professor of Comparative Politics at the Department of Politics & Public Administration and a principle investigator at the Cluster of Excellence “The Politics of Inequality” at the University of Konstanz. Before coming to Konstanz, I was associate professor in political science at the University of Toronto and held a post-doc position at the Max-Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne, Germany. I received my doctorate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Washington in Seattle. My research concentrates on representation in advanced democracies, comparative political economy, political methodology, and budgetary politics. My research received three awards from the American Political Science Association.
