My research has focused on the connection between clientelism and ethnic politics, and, more recently, anti-Americanism and domestic responses to foreign intervention. I conduct my research primarily in the Arab world. Much of it focuses on mass attitudes and behavior, and uses a combination of observational and experimental methods.
